I know they are coming with the 2.0T again and they are claiming 200hp. But my question is will the drivetrain be the same? There won't be any minor tweaks made?
And is the suspension going to be the same as MK5s?

Re: Same suspension/Drivetrain as MK5? (SeanKirk23)

As all of the professional test reports indicate the Mk6 drives and feels much better than the Mk5, there are likely extensive chassis and suspension tuning differences.

Yes but parts are interchangeable.

Re: Same suspension/Drivetrain as MK5? (2 liter weedeater T)

The guys over at Forge (if my memory serves me well) have reported that some suspension components are interchangable.
Based on Volkswagen's press releases and some of the observations posted in other threads it seems that the MK6 chassis is much stiffer and the suspension has been recalibrated to take advantage of the stiffer chassis. My guess is that with the stiffer chassis the designers can use firmer spring rates and stabilizer bars, while maintaining ride comfort. In other words, you will negate the improvements made by using MK5 suspension parts in the MK6.

While I was on-set for the Mk6 commercial shooting, they were doing high-speed "evasive maneuvers" across the streets and I was blown away at how little body roll this car seems to have... Seems like the Mk6 is going to be leaps and bounds better than the Mk5!
Forgive the blurriness... they were moving FAST

The "notched structure" crowd will, of course, destroy any structural advantage the new car has.

So what? Let people do what they want with their cars.We in turn will enjoy them the way VW intended.
