Konig seat question

I'm curious to know if the seats in the .:R are full leather? I know VW mostly uses partial leather in the previous seats (outside bolsters and seat backs were leatherette). It looks like the entire .:R seats are full leather. can anyone confirm this?

only the inserts are leather.

actually i think the leather seats are ALL leather, but the cloth ones have leatherette bolsters.

compared them side by side with full leather R seats, since i couldnt tell a difference and i highly doubt VW would have used vinyl material in their limited edition top of the line $35K+ flagship golf model

I'm pretty sure the cloth seats have leatherette bolsters. The full leather seats seem to be 100% leather not just inserts but I can't be totally sure.

to me the inserts on my seats have always looked slightly different than the bolsters. I am pretty sure this was discussed in 04 when we got our cars new but I can't find the posts.

i'm fairly certain that the R32 seats are "leather seating surface" only~the actual seat bottom & the seat back.the bolsters and back of the seat is pleather.i believe the inner-half of the bolsters are also leather.the leather is a bit weird,it's treated/sealed with some kind of chemical sealer.that's why the leather is so 'stiff',it's not a softer,natural leather seat like the old Corrado's seats.

ill second that, my cloth seats bolsters dont seem to be the same as the all leather seat bolsters and leather inserts

ok everyone.
next we'll be discussing what the "flapper mod" is.
from the factory. leather seats are all leather.
cloth seats are cloth/vinyl (leatherette, pleather, what ever name you want to call it)
these cars are old now, and perhaps some previous owners did some funky things...
perhaps some of you can't tell the difference... but either way dem's the facts.

This all blew up back when R32 was released in England initially.
Was even investigated by a consumer affairs show over there at the time.
They are all leather.

I should have stated US spec models.

other markets also got alcantra seats.
but my previous statement is true on US spec Rs.
this is why "cloth seats" still look almost new after 5+ years and "leather seats" don't.
vinyl doesn't age like leather.
