Hi guys. I'm going to Heidelberg Germany in a few weeks. Has anyone been there? Is there anything VW/Audi related I should do? I'm planning on stopping by an Audi dealer to drool over an S3. Maybe they'll take me for a test ride.

I am not aware of anything Audi related in Heidelberg.
Here are my Heidelberg photos, it is a beautiful city: http://www.pbase.com/cincyimag...rmany
My favorite thing Audi related when I am in Germany is to visit the dealerships and pick up things you can't find in the states. Their gift shops are better. I have a sweet little die cast of my A3 that is exact down to the color and rims.
Here are a few dealership photos I took when I was in Kaiserslautern:

Yea, I was in Berlin for 4 weeks this summer. Check out dealerships for sure, they'd love to sell you cool merchandise. It can be expensive though, depending on where you go.
I'm not really that familiar with Heidelberg... if it's anything like Berlin or Munich, then you'll see tons and tons and tons of VWs and Audi's just driving around... I saw a few S3 sportbacks, tons of S3 3-doors, and even more standard A3s.

Castles, more castles, and more more castles . . . that's all I remember. Don't drink the beer, if you do, you will become like me. Castles, more castles, and more more castles (in Heidelberg).
I will be going next year. Rome to Munich (200th Oktoberfest), Ingolstadt, Ansbach (stationed there 83-86), Hanau (78-81, home of the famous brothers Grimm), Paris, and London.
Have fun

Thanks for all of the photos / suggestions. I'll try that whole buying-an-S3 thing, although I'm not sure where I will come up with 40,000 Euros.
I'll be sure to post photos.

Heidelberg is a ''college'' town- via nearby university, the scenery is awesome, especially looking across the river- where you see the nice german traditional looking town. Lots of little cafes- and LOTS of bicycle riders (as transportation. Dont missout on visiting the Heidelberg castle either. Its been 10yeas since ive been in germany. I stayed in Frankfurt main, and rented a VW Polo GT40 (way back then) and drove (a little over 3 hours) to Wolfsburg (VW factory). Also visited the city of Hannover.
If you dont plan to go up north- Heidelberg is south of Frankfurt- and you can easily drive down to Ingolstadt, Munich, and Stuttgart.
If you havent driven on the autobahn- word of advise, dont think you can stay on the fast lane like you could here in the states, and you better check that rearview mirror every second if you wish to stay on the fast lane (passing lane)...

Hope you enjoy Germany

I should've gone to the dealerships as well. Instead I went to the museum and although knowing the history of Audi is pretty cool, its something I wouldn't do again. I'm more into the modern stuff.
But yes, castles are a must!
Here's some pics from my trip...

As I said above, next year's the 200th Oktoberfest, last week of September, first week of Oktober, will always be a special time. If not in Germany, find the import beer store, and enjoy
