External Temperature Display Oscillating After Sensor Replacement: Troubleshooting

I am having issues with my external temperature display. It keeps oscillating up and down. It will fall to around 10 degrees, and then begin to climb back up to normal temperature. I just replaced the front sensor (the one behind the lower grill) and I am still having the same issues.
Is there a way to reset the system, some sort of calibration for the new sensor? Anyone have any issues like this.

i hate to tell you this (only because i have absolutely no idea whats wrong) have you asked your delearship at all, even if they cant cover it, at least ask what the problem is that way you can do it yourself????

I am thinking about it, but i would love to avoid the hassle. I assumed that this was not a one off thing and that someone else has seen this issue.

I really am not sure about this...I have never had to deal with anything like it before. However, I know that you can get your car ecu to reset itself by disconnecting the battery for several hours. I have no idea if that could help or not, but seeing as you have just replaced a sensor, it seems like a relatively low-risk, simple thing to try. Try to find somone with Vag-Com to scan for codes too.
