Garrett turbo or not ?

i just got this turbo and was told it was a Garrett gt28rs turbo ... but it don't say Garrett on it at all ??
it has casted in the center and on the exh housing 02 YEQI
douse any one know anything about this turbo ?

must be fishy., china fishy.
if it doesnt have a Garrett CHRA tag and garrett casting(exhaust/compressor housing markings), i would take the claim to be a "Garrett" with a grain of salt.. its obviously a cheap immitation.

Depending upon the supporting hardware he received I would say run it til it starts to scream, then send it out to g-pop for a Garrett rebuild.. They rebuild the copycat turbo's to Garrett specs and offer a warranty..

I would definitely file a claim, but good luck getting our money back. Paypal told me they only covered items that were never received. I once bought an AWP valve cover only to receive an AWW cover. Filed a claim thru paypal and it was denied.

Definitely file a claim its worth a shot, but don't be surprised if it rejected.
