Re: Need some BT help (mcmahonbj)

rods, exhaust valves and clutch. everything else is kind of overkill. these three are necassary. depending on how much mileage you have maybe gaskets and bearings. the pistons are good for 700hp, so i couldn't justify spending $700 on them. AEB heads flow much better but it doesn't translate to much hp, and the high flow mani depends on how much boost you are going for, and your gt28 won't max out the stock mani.

so i dont need lsd? i thought that is a must with high hp? also i dont need ti retianers if i only get some better exhaust valves? like supertechs? ill be pushing around 24 psi im at 77k for mileage

Re: Need some BT help (mcmahonbj)

the motor was built for boost from VW so most components are durable. i guess the lsd would help get power to the ground, but it depends on style of driving you prefer. good for darg racing not so good for road courses (i think).
edit: don't know if you did, but do your timing belt. just looking out.

Woah....the last i heard and what i have found from general consensus is that they are only good for around 500hp....
But yeah either way with an apr stage 3 kit (28) you will not need pistons.
You need rods...clutch...yeah thats pretty much it
Even exhaust valves are kinda overkill for a apr stg 3 kit
A high flow mani would be a decent idea, but not necessary...they flow more efficiently and quite a bit more flow actually...you will see some gains from this upgrade

INAenginerring had them.

ill just do rods, clutch/lw flywheel, lsd, and high flow mani, and arp head studs and arp flywheel bolts... than

Good idea, the lsd is the only thing on the list that isnt necessary cuz with a stg 3 you wont be putting down a ridiculous amount of power but by all means, if you have an extra 1000 kickin around its def worth it if you can install it yourself. I have driven in many cars, some with and some without, man does it make a difference

Good luck and cant wait to see the build thread http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Oh almost forgot to mention the motor mounts....get some upgraded ones http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Its really up to your taste as to which ones you pick
