I have been searching and have come up with nothing...
1) I was wondering if there were any alternatives for front valances, I've noticed a lot of texers making home made lips?? Any suggestions??
2) How exactly is the stock valance removed... I know the rubstrip is a biotch is it the same idea??
Thanks guys.

Re: (Cee-dub)

If anyone read my thread I was asking about custom valances??? Like home made ones... I read the bumper thread which doesn't contain any home made valances hence "OEM BUMPER THREAD"...
Thought maybe some people might have found valances from other cars, etc.
And the rubstrip is just tedious and annoying to take off with all those stupid clips.. I was just wondering if removing the valance was similiar?? Thanks again.. lol

i dont think ive seen anyone use a valance off another car before. if it were that easy... it would have been said by now. the design of how out valances are so critical... even the swap between us golf/gti to us jettas arent compatible.
i guess you can alway be the first.
and taking the valance off is so easy, a cynderblock can do it.

just pull really hard

front valence is a piece of cake to take off.... a couple screws, and some tabs. you might want two people, just to not scratch it up if you're doing it in the driveway or something. I have an unpainted 4-mo, and it looks alllllmost stock, but different. not sure if ill paint it or not just yet.

Re: (stv1der)

you can just pull on the valence to get it off once you've removed the screws however I found it nicer to work each tab off individually with pliers wrapped in electrical tape that way you don't run the risk of ruining any of the tabs or slots for the tabs.
As for other valences you're pretty much limited (quality/aesthetic wise) to the 4mo or gli, there are a few others out there but some of the best results come from one of the two molded to the bumper. I would also look into the R bumper although a lot of them have issues with fitting right so you will have to take your time on the install.

thank you sir. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif i am looking into a 4mo lip now which is a better route than the gli seeing as how expensive they are... and for the r bumper i can't really do that because i am installing a jetta nose today.
