I'm boosting my ABA and I'm looking for some advice. Mainly on the selection of my turbo. I've been burying myself in efficiency maps in hopes of getting a good idea of what I want but I can't seem to make a selection.
OBDI ABA
9:1 CR spacer
C2 Stage 2 #42 software
#42 injectors
Short runner intake manifold
Turbosmart Ultragate 38 WG
ATP FMIC
2.5" turbo back into 2.25 over exle/muffler.
cutsom tubularish exhaust manifold (a little hacked, but it should work)
TDO5H turbo.
3" MAF
Greddy GS knock-off
Spec stage 2 clutch setup
Now, I'd love to see 250 WHP. I know it sounds a little funny but I'm attempting to keep the car decently reliable and I'd love the capability of boosting to around 280 WHP to really have some fun on weekends. I'm a LITTLE confused as to how the C2 is making adjustments according to my setup. I'm assuming it's pulling a bit of timing, tricking the MAF with the larger housing, and adding fuel with larger pulse widths and obviously the larger injectors. Will my AFR's be on spot with the software or should I pick up an adjustable FPR? I'm going to be monitoring AFR's through an innovate LC1 to ensure I don't blow sheet up. Also planning on picking up a pyrometer.
ADVICE! I need advice! I need to find a turbo for under $300 that is going to be efficient boosting at ~17 lbs (right?) for my car. And I need some advice on tuning and ensuring that I don't just dive in and blow 'er up. Pictures ASAP! I can also either go OBDI or OBDII... hmm.
