Re: 80's classic? Maxima station wagon? (Remedy)

I had a blue 1986 Maxima wagon. It was smooth to drive, had a cool dash, talked, had power seats and a stereo with equlizers. Ofcourse after a while, everything stopped working and had lots of mechanical problems. But it had alot of character for what it was.

Here's a rundown of Maxima history:

I think I'm probably revealing my age here, but I remember a test (mentioned in the link) done by Car and Driver in 1983...they took a bunch of sporty sedans of the era down to Mexico. If I remember correctly, they ended up damaging the Maxima, and drowned a Pontiac 6000STE while crossing a washout on a road. I just wish I could find the article! Good stuff!

I remember that article & I think I have it around here somewhere. IIRC they were driving around in the Baha peninsula. I seem to remember a Dodge K-car hitting a large animal as well.

My childhood friend and neighbor had a 5-speed Datsun 810 Maxima wagon. when we were in grade school. It was a burnt orange- almost copper color.
Thanks to this thread, I've beent trying to find the specific wheel covers for the last half hour.

They were smooth, concave wheels with a lip IIRC.
Similar color to the top half of this 810:

What model is the white vehicle next to the brown one?
Image

Just from the styling cues it looks like a 70s Corolla wagon... or at least a Toyota wagon. Here's a pic I could find of the '76 Corollas:

Not saying for sure whether that white one is a Corolla or this exact generation, but it's similar.
