whats the difference between an regular k03 turbo and an k03s turbo. because i want to upgrade my turbo to an k04 and i just was curious on whats the differents and can i bolt the k04 turbo up to my factory manifold and downpipe?

FV-QR

you can bolt a ko4-001 to your manifold but if there is nothing wrong with your current turbo I would just save my money. If you want a bit more power I would look for a used TT turbo kit in the classifieds. They usually sell for arounf $700 including everything you need. Realistically, I would save the money all together and get a real turbo kit.
K03, K03s, K04 all slow for the most part

Re: FV-QR (jwalker1.8)

the reason i was going to get an k04 turbo is because my current stock turbo is leaking oil because of the gaskets or maybe the oil line anyway i would have to take the turbo out to do so, so i was just gonna but an slightly bigger turbo or just replace it with an k03s

if your gonna go bigger turbo, your going to have to go through the hassle of replacing rods and pistons.
the k04-001 is pretty much the maxed turbo without having to do major changes to your car

i beg to differ, i have seen many bt applications running stock internals just fine, many years, many miles, and to this day are still fine.

Re: (dubinsincuwereindiapers)

what about the k04 001 turbo for an replacement from a k03 i know its not an major difference but workin with an budget here not rich to get an $2,000 turbo kit( and yes i say $2,000 cause i include the cost of labor

lol i knew you would say that.
you just want a simple slightly better turbo and just bolt it on, and than go spool.
the k04-001 is your answer. you should call cts turbo for questions.

sounds good.

or you can go to the mk4 classifieds and just buy the same used turbo again.
up to you
