I just bought my frist VW a 1997 GTI VR6 and I want to begin with an intake system. Who has one I can buy? Or has incite on where/what one to get.

truthfully i'd start elsewhere, but if you must have an intake get something like this

Well this is a car forum, and you have to be 16 to drive a car, so everyone on here should be at least 16... so you'd think basic English and grammar should be a given. I find lazy spelling and grammar to be an insult.

im also looking for intakes for my mkiii and corrado, both vr6. so far i am thinking the itg set ups linked at the top. i may get one cai that dips down behind the bumper for the gti and the corrado will get the other style that sits in the bay with the heat shield. ive heard people debate over which is better for so long i decided to try them both out.

it my case i have clogged "spectre" cones zipped on by the po, so i think i will get better airflow by getting new intakes. i think the op has the stock air box so at the very least he should get a better sound right?

advanced flow engineering has a nice stage 2 kit, actual improvement at high rpm. Google stage 2 afe vr6. The sound w/exhaust.. incredible. :thumbup:
