In the development phase people were making fun of them having to put countless turbos on it to get it past 400 kph and how they couldn't seem to ever get the project finalized. But now, everyone praises it. Having seen all these reviews, I really believe that with a project that long and expensive, they really managed to create something extraordinary: a supercar that's much faster than anything road legal before while still being easy to drive, smooth and luxurious. And that's what's so cool about. Today there are more supercars than ever, so you'd think everything's been done already, but still one manufacturer manages to create something that blows minds.lol, I always have to laugh a bit when people compare this car to a full out sports car, or when they see it launch they're always like "OMG, why's it so slow off the line" "why's it so heavy, oh gosh!" People like that do not understand what the car's trying to accomplish at all. It's a luxury car, that will feel luxurious even going ~250MPH. There's simply nothing else like it.
i agree. The host wasn't engaging at all. I wonder what would happen when a Veyron travelling at 227 mph hits road debri, like this:so....what exactly is so great about this video? i don't get it.![]()
i was under the impression that the owner had been drinking with buddies and the host just met up with them, but i could be wrong. The fact that they broadcasted he'd been drinking is shocking...granted it's Europe, but still the laws can't be super forgiving.
"HEY! I've got a great idea...lets go drinking...sit in a million dollar car...and see how fast it goes!"
And no one was like "hey, that might not be the best idea..."
Lame video.
Call me back when you'll see real action, something else than showing a man merely capable of pushing the gas pedal.
BTW, the Veyron was not really competitive on the Nurburgring; even a Corvette ZR1 and GT-R were faster.

While I agree with pretty much everything in this thread, I don't want to sound like a snob I'm honestly curious as to what the top speed of the Veyron really is? I recall the fastest speed the McLaren f1 hit was 241mph? I don't think the Veyron can go "much" faster, maybe 20mph more(?), and I've yet to even see that.In the development phase people were making fun of them having to put countless turbos on it to get it past 400 kph and how they couldn't seem to ever get the project finalized. You know, I can't drive a mile on a Michigan highway without seeing a road gator, but you just don't see them over here in Germany. Not that it's impossible, but I can't recall ever seeing one. All the trucks drive slower here and have supersingle tires which I'm sure helps.i agree. The host wasn't engaging at all. Whenever i see late night high speed videos on public roads i always worry about the road gators
That time is far from official. I've never seen any shred of proof that it actually happened. Second, even if it did, I'm sure whoever was driving was scared ****less of wadding up a Veyron.Lame video.
