As the title states, the car will not crank over and has no spark to boot. Turn the key, nothing at all; everything lights up and that's about it. Sounds like the pump is priming, but still nothing. Anyone have any ideas before I take it over to the stealership?

Not a stupid question. Did you check your battery? Or starter solenoid maybe. Or like scotty said it could be that all powerfull ignition switch.

Sorry gents, should have been more descriptive. It's a 93 Rado, 144k on the clock, fresh head and timing maintenance. Previous owner snapped a chain and had to do some work, after getting the motor back together, would not crank over at all. Instuments light up, tachometer bounces around mildly(could be from sitting for a year). Battery is dead obviously, but even with someone jumping you, only thing that works are the electronics.
I have a distributor and ignition switch getting ready to go in today to see if that will help. If not then we will go for an ECU and fuel pump.

Is the injector harness connector fully engaged? I did the same exact thing last year and come to find out my big plug-in at the right side of the head was not plugged in all the way. Once it was fully plugged in, I was getting fuel and spark. Let me know if this helps.

are you serious? so your saying a car with no ecu or crank sensor with crank over?
You need to get you no start language sorted. An engine either won't crank (aka turn over) or won't start (aka cranks/turns over, but does not start/fire).

Crank sensor failure will only prevent starting, not cranking/turning over.

Why would you replaced the dizzy and ignition coil for a "no crank" condition.....? If the starter is not cranking the engine, the problem lies with the starter circuit - most likely the ignition switch, but also could be a starter or ground issue.

BTW, how would you even check for spark on an engine that does not crank....?

i bet the ign swich went bad its common. on the starter there is the signal wire. when u try to crank u should get 12v from it. if not then more likey the swich. to test starter do this: take out the signal wire run a wire from it to the battery and see if it tryes to crank over. dont try to bridge it with a screw driver. try this and post back!

hmmmmm my cars

I have the same problem occasionally but i know its my ignition switch because it will start with a little jingle jangle. However i bought a bad ecu in the beginning from some dude and the car wouldnt start. The ignition switch controls the on/off power of the ecu if im correct. So if the ignition switch didnt fix it borrow one before buying one. They can be spendy. Make sure its the correct one so you dont blow **** up and see if someone else's ecu will start the car.

Or find someone who has a vag to plug into your car and throw codes. (that sounds wrong but i dont know how else to put it)
