i have an 01 jetta 1.8t. already modded the stock air box and have k&n filter, MBC and diode mod. currently running around 16 to 18 psi. but that drops to 14/15 above 4500rpms. so i have saved some cash and am looking to do some more stuff. just wondering what i should do next. been considering a chip, but dont know if it will make much a difference since im already running higher boost. or would exhaust be a better choice to add to what i have already done? any imput is welcome. im predicting that most people are gonna recommend i do a chip.

A good Eurodyne, or Uni tune is really your best option.. It will be more powerful, and smoother as well. Theres more to a tune than simply allowing higher boost levels.. Ive done both the diode mbc route, and a tune.. Im currently running an aggressive stage 2+ map on Eurodyne MAestro with a few tweaks as well..

thats good.. the aww is a wideband car identical to the awp found in the later cars.. same ko3s turbo, and everything. The only difference being the lame 150hp tune from the factory

Thats why i asked, I'd hit a Stage 1 program with it.

With that AWW you need to get a tune. Our cars do not run as good with a diode as the AWP guys since the car never expected to see more than 10psi whereas the AWPs can do 14psi all day. So once you chip it those same 16-18psi are probably gonna feel alot more powerful.
