I got myself an 86 Porsche 944 N/A about two months ago and I've had some work done to it last month to have it back to top shape and now I'm looking at doing some aftermarket mods, the first thing I want to do is get a new exhaust but idk what to go with cause this is my first experience with a Porsche. So if anyone knows anything about them please help!
Thanks

SWEET! I had a 1988 Turbo that I had blood, sweat, lots of tears, and too much money into. THey are PHENOMINAL cars to drive and you will get good performance from the car.

BEcome a member of www.rennlist.com ASAP there is a wealth of knowledge about these cars there. even more so then some of these forums

Most all parts turbo/na and most all years will bolt right on with little if any modification

Suspension goes a LONG way with these cars. THe brembo 4-pots will stop the car on a dime with some vented rotors and good pads.

Maintenance is huge. these cars run a timing belt. replace @ 60k miles with water pump. Drive it like you stole it, rev match, and have fun!!!

contact me if you have any questions. things like "floppy" shift lever have easy fixes. jace.edlund@gmail.com

i have a 914 project ive been working on. ive always loved porsches in general and having one is an awesome experience.

I have a 1977 924 that I really ought to fix up... For exhaust I really am not sure why you want to mod it, it already flows quite well, if you want to turbo it you might look into aftermarket, or just swapping straight over from a turbo 944.

Since you said you aren't too familiar with the car yet, I think you should see what others did and why before throwing money at the car. You'll find lots of exhaust mods, but they usually come after intake and head work.

Welcome to the world of 944's... I'm a fellow 944 owner although mine is street legal it only sees track time. I race at all the SCCA/ICSCC events and I would recommend a visit/call over to Fordahl Motorsports in Redmond. Greg knows porsches very well and treats his customer's great.

PM me if you need anything...

Excellent links. Best places to start. Paragon Products also offers lots of 944 parts (if they are still around).

Timing belts are actually a 30k replacement w/ 15k tension adjustment.

I used to have an '84......the only car I regret selling. I'll probably have another one someday. Got my 914 for my Porsche and vintage kicks.
