Jetta Fog Lamps

Hi all I have a friend with a 2002 Jetta 1.8T.
Can any of you out there recommend a good set of fog lamps? He said that VW does not offer it as an option on his car, but I find that hard to believe.
Anyway, any help and pics you can post would be great!!!

You might have trouble to get a set of fogs installed on a 1.8T because of the intercooler blocking the way or something of the sort.
There has been reports that some people with 1.8T's that have successfully done it...

I recently heard that the fog lamps are intergrated into the headlights, that is why it is not an option. Is this true?

They are integrated into the headlights and could be an option if VW wanted it to be. They are stock on the Jetta GLX and were stock on GTIs before 2003 but now all GTIs come with Golf-type headlights.
You can however install Jetta GLX lamps or E-codes on the Jetta in question. Grille-mounted ones will, as you say, block the intercooler, so you'll want to go the headlight retrofit route.

For headlights, look on http://www.parts4vws.com or in the MkIV classifieds. I installed GTI headlights on my Golf and will be switching to e-codes in the near future. The results have been excellent. Bulb type is H3; I installed PIAA Ion Crystal bulbs because I wanted a yellow beam to get the best use out of them. Standard on the GLX, and comes with Premium Package for the Wagon 1.8T
Many people have put the Hellas or InPro ones without any problems.

I'll vouch for that . I have a 1.8T, and hella micro DEs and they are great.
