I was thinking the same thing, but at speeds over 100 I never noticed much of a difference between the american and european chin spoiler.

me neither i heard splitters make a huge differance at high speed ive noticed my corrado(g60 soon to be vr6) gets light above 120 im assuming having the extra weight of the vr6 will keep the nose down

It creates a "dropped" illusion from the front, plus it looks nicer than the stock. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I always assumed we got the shorter chin spoiler due to clearance issues thinking our roads are worse. You probably all know the stateside Mk3 Golf/Jettas came with a smaller chin spoiler as well compared to the Europeans. Just my 2 cents
