Hey- swapping a new engine into my 99 golf (AEG) with a newer engine from a 2003 jetta (AVG engine) . Can I use the AVG fuel injectors from the newer engine? Id rather have the cleaner injectors running but not sure if they are different...

Anything else I should do while putting a new engine in? Thanks.

I was told if you have AEG (1999 2.0 Golf) and are swapping in a AVH, you have to keep all AEG sensors and electronics.

Im just wondering if that means I have to keep the original fuel rail and injectors from the AEG. Id rather have the AVH ones because they are newer and less miles.

Im keeping all original sensors and whatnot out of the 1999 golf AEG. Just swapping in the AVH block....but just wondering if I can keep the Fuel injectors and rail on from the AVH engine or if they are completely different injectors? do they even have the same plug ins?

Just trying to make uprgades to newer parts if possible...

Oh, I am not quite sure in that case.

I will say injectors rarely go bad, so you would be fine using the AEG units.

Probably the wiser decision too since they are what originally came with the car. aka, no chance for a bad result.

If they are the same that would be awesome. The avh ones are a lot cleaner. Aeg engine has a crack in the head maybe? Not sure but there's oil sitting on the intake valves. It has a lot of miles and I bought it that way because I found a motor at such a good deal it was too good to pass up plus only half the miles :)

This is my 1st Vw and I'm enjoying the swap so far.
