In the US he would have been shot about 600 times in the first 3 seconds after he started heading towards other ground personnel. It's astonishing what you can get away with in other parts of the world and not get shot.

At CDG in Paris they have soldiers patrolling the terminal carrying FAMAS "bugles." I'm sure they would have sorted his shyte out quickly.

This video would have been so much more satisfying to watch if it happened in the US. I love watching nutjobs getting their face full of police boots.
Also, it would have been 30 seconds long, instead of 15 minutes.

In situations like this, yes, he got away with it without being shot. However, there are some Garda units that are heavily armed and have shot people when threatened. The regular Army can also be deployed as needed for security details and they too have shot people (IRA usually).

Come on people, you know you've wanted to run from the cops at least once.

Subtract all of the "aiming for personal" and "hitting cars" and you have one hell of a fun joyride.:laugh::laugh:

I would have had SO much fun. I was really annoyed that the door was open at first though. I kept thinking "Why doesn't he close it?" And "there's a passenger in that thing?". Then I realized it's RHD.

Maybe he was annoyed cause the windshield wipers were on.

Heard about this on the news this week, it was kinda overshadowed by the Obamas visit.
A couple of points:
Gardaí are trained not to pursue, in fact they are trained never to pursue unless it's absolutely essential, the risk to the public is seen as being greater. We've had a few cases go before the police Ombudsman where a Garda was deemed partly liable when the chase ended with a crash.
Regular Gardaí are not armed, we have the ARU for that. (The Volvo wagon that's first on the scene at around 5:20 is an ARU vehicle). The unmarked Mondeos that arrive are plain clothes detectives, probably armed as well. Before that it's the Airport rentacops that are trying to avoid being killed.

That video would probably have been a lot shorter, but for the fact that half the force were in Dublin for the presidential visit.

Someone needs to edit in the Benny Hill music, that was crazy. Those cop cars must be expensive for the way they were avoiding hitting the Fire SUV.
YES x infinity! Haha that was hilariously entertaining. I think they dealt fairly well with the security threat of a naked man driving a fire vehicle in circles. BUT if I was in the big fire truck, I would've sprayed that guy down good and blasted the insanity out of him with pure water.
