yeah, but it's really just a nasty Audi Quattro Coupe in carbon fiber Golf clothing. ridiculously cool..... absolutely. I can also think of more efficient ways to spend, what, $500k USD? Maybe an M3 for each day of the week... or perhaps a nice house.

Besides, the cost of it is not about being practical, its about doing it because you can. If I had $500,000 sure I wouldn't waste it on that, but if I had $500,000 stilling around going to waste, then I can't think of anything better.

500,000 is the approx cost to reproduce the car. Dahlback used to work for audi racing back in the 80's as one of the top mechanics. They only thing he had to really put into this car was parts. He had the skills to fabricate everything on the car. More power to him, he built an insane ride.

It's a cool car and all, and I COULD BE WRONG, but isn't that thing not even a Volkswagen anymore?
I mean what's the point? It's a great, fast car and it used to be a Golf, but now its all custom it's not even really a Golf anymore. I mean why not take a Yugo and put a 600hp engine in it?

It really isn't a VW...but technically its all OEM from the VW family...so you can say its Vwaudiwagen...somethingorother...
But this is the kind of car that pisses me off when people say "well there's this Golf that has 900 hp..." lol. Like the Neon SRT-4 9-second quarter cars which are stripped out race cars, and people saying "look its just a Neon".
This brand of a car is above any normal classification.
