like the title says , diesel 208 000 on her, got it out of a barn and the breaks are all locked up so iv ordered all new jaz all around except front calipers they seemed to work when i tryed to stop wont know if there shot till i get the wheels off, going to do an oil change and flush the breaks out,

now iv never owned a car this old so im not sure what else to do this is also my fist diesel
the shift linkage is shot, but iv been told that i can just do usrt bushings and save it ? almost feels like first and second are not there but if u #@$@ with it u can find them

is there anything else that i should check out or do ?

also the guy i bought it off has a load of mk1 parts cars one being a not to bad cabby id like to swap the front end over to have single rounds , would i have to cut the rad support out to do this or is it more of a direct swap obv id have to wire up the bumper turns as well ?

what no one here is willing to guid a new mk1'er come on guys dont be hurt :beer:
Read the faq, use the search (might want to try punching "just bought" into the search, for instance), and get a bentley. All your questions will be answered. GL :beer:

This is going to end badly. Keep your MK4 and sell it to someone that will treasure it as is. No point in cutting and welding in a new core if there is nothing wrong with the one you have. :banghead:

It's a MK1, there will always be something new wrong with it. Start reading and researching.

well as a body man a front end swap is pie :screwy: i just wanted to know if there was a way to do it without swaping the core, eather way i have no problem cuting the front end off this cabriolet for my own satisfaction and doing the core swap or i could save it for some one to treasure and just take the bumper , grill and fenders off and hood if needed and pass the rest on to someone for free . just cus you dont like the direction im going gives you no right to flame me, i respect all styles and dont hate to stock look i just enjoy the euro look more.

to show u what im working with minus the PO hurt wheels

Welcome and good luck, there's a lot of info here if you search a bit. As for the front clip, yes, you need to swap over the radiator support + fenders + bumper with marker lights in them to complete the job. Purists on here will hate you for doing it. They will also assume you're not a worthy mk1 fan because you own a mkiv. There's a good chance your Caddy has decent rust in the strut towers and the inner fender area near the rain tray. Stop it from spreading at your earliest opportunity. Cheers!

ps - Spell check your posts. Tons of grammatical errors don't help you to be taken seriously.
