Safest rev limit with cams?

Does anyone know what the maximum rpm of an R32 is, with stock internals?

Does the R's crank throw become a problem past 7000rpm compared to say, a 2.8 24V, or a breathed on 12V?

Assume for now the mods to enable increased breathing at that rpm are fitted, but I'm just curious to know what rpm the valve gear and rods etc can handle?

For instance, has anyone exceeded 7500rpm frequently with no consequences?

I'm not sure about 7.5k but I've taken an .:R to 7.2k with no problems not on a stock tune, but she didn't seem to mind. I wouldn't think 7.5k would be horrible but after that imo your stretching the OEM valvetrain and asking for some valve float.

Thanks, that gives me some idea :thumbup:

Do you happen to know the stock rev limit? I'll be running mine on SEM so have no baseline number to use.

I made my 1-2 shifts at 8500 and its still in one piece.

Stock rev limit is about 6,500
I've got an APR chip carbonio cold air couple other things but it's mainly stock.
I push it to 7k no problems...

Stock seems to be somewhere between 6500 and 7000 rpm.
Im tuned up and run to 7400 with the limiter set at 7500.
