So I really dig mkII and havent owned anything newer than a 97 that i didnt even drive when it was mine. I decided to buy a 99 Golf. Im not as interested in it as my mkII's so i havent done a super huge amount of research on this/these cars. but my best guess is its a GL with an AEG motor

150,008 when i baught it.
even though the interior was kinda **** and peices n bits broke there were little hints in the engine that let me know the prev owner took care of the car (baught at a used car lot)
Did a tune up, fixed the flat and put the normal rim on, cleaned up the inside and fixed some peices. then put a stereo in it.
