So my names Nick, I'm 17 i have a 97 VR, I've been a constant lurk for awhile and now i'm finally gonna post some stuff. Last week i was an idiot while driving and got distracted cause i saw a mint ass Mk3 VR Jetta and rear ended the guy in front of me. Ended up needing a new radiator and front end...so after some input from my cousin( he's built 2 corrados, mk3 jetta, mk4 gti, and some more) i was convinced to do a jetta front end swap:D here's what i got so far.

What it looked like after i hit the guy, not to bad but still sucks

So I went down to a local junkyard and found a perfect vr jetta that i could pull the radiator off, as well as the hood, grill, lights, bumper, and driver side fender. The only downside to it all was it didn't match my paint and it happens to be a sparkly purple/blue ugly ass combo..but it works.

This is with the new radiator and fans installed and half my fender off haha

Got the new hood, fender, and bumper on..

Checking the fan and radiator, it started getting dark and we called it a night.
Hoping to finish tomorrow then get it painted next week. And yes i'm paying for it all myself i'm no spoiled little teenager, i hate them just as much as you do.

More pics tmrw hopefully thanks!

Good start bro, that really doesnt look that bad. Could have been alot worse but Jetta front end is win GL

Finished the swap today! It looks good to me, except for the damn racing stripe:banghead:
Going to get a quote from maaco on monday.
Anybody done business with them, good or bad?

After i get new paint going to invest in some coilovers and possibly new wheels, i'm on the lookout for some bbs rc's. i don't know why i just feel like they could go on a mk3 in 17". Please leave the 17" is to big comments to yourself...

Maaco jobs are cheap, they use single stage paint. For the most part it will be fine, especially since the car is black, but don't expect anything amazing.

BBS RC's in anything other than 18" are hard to come by. They are a great looking wheel, if your set on them, just don't get 18" (what came on the mk4 GLI's / 337's), will look horrible.

Yeah i'm not expecting anything to amazing for the paint, and as for the rims i have only found one set that were 17's and they were screwed with curb rash:thumbdown:

Mk3's should be black, mk4 silver. Personal preferance and also most common. I am a fellow 17 year old with an mk3 and I am going to get it painted glossy black because it's beautiful! haha :)

And also, I put 17" monte Carlos on mine and it's sick, don't listen to all the other haters. Go with 17's for sure!

17s can be pulled off on a mk3. Here is my jetta with tt wheels.

And here is a jetta with 17" Rc's they are really hard to come by for a good price though.
