I'm about to hit 70k on my 1.8t and I want to get my timing belt and water pump done cause I hear something squeaking when the car is on and i'm getting worried.

I've heard a lot of good things about this one: http://www.mjmautohaus.com/catalog/...14_1567&info=OEM_VAG_06A109119C.KIT3_Timing_Belt_Kit_"PLUS"_OEM&products_id=496

I've also heard about the ecs kit: http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-Jetta_IV_GLI--1.8T/Maintenance/Engine/Timing_Belt_Kits/ES2286/

I just wanna know how they're holding up if you've done your timing belt and WP with these products. If you know of other websites that have good pricing please post a link. Thanks.

If you are doing this yourself I would say ECS is the way to go, especially for the shipping rates within the states they offer. I had mine done at the dealer up here in Canada, just felt like this was a job that only cost 50 bucks more at the dealer, but I was getting the professionals to do it right. I think I paid around 500 all said and done.

Cheers

same here, but at times there shipping is pretty high
agreed. $3 for a stubby antenna and $9 to ship it  but, sometimes thats just marketing.

mjm has good products and great customer service (and free shipping)
