Golf IV 1.9TDI Highline 2001 6 Speed Manual

Hello guys,

I changed the EGR Valve of my Golf.
In fact the old one had the numbers 038131501E
while the other one I took had different numbers and ended with B letter.

Can you please help me if there is anything wrong with the replacement I made?
The mechanic told me the number changed because of the year in which the EGR is manufactured. Nevertheless, the new and the old one look the same.

Please help me on this,

Probably just an updated or revised version that they gave a new part number to because it technically isn't the same. You should be fine.

Also, props to you for having a 6-speed TDI. Lucky Europeans
