I have a rare-ish wheel that I'm fitting on for this season and today while test fitting the 15mm adapter, I realized the hub centric center is too big for the center of the wheel. Solution? Me spending an hour with a grinder carefully bringing down the center on the adapter, without hitting any studs.

Question is, will bringing down the hub centric center threaten any structural integrity of the adapter itself? In theory, I don't see it being a problem since in essence the lug nuts are keeping everything secure. Any ideas?

structural integrity? maybe not.
possibly speed wobbles or not even? more likely.
you're always doin work :)
Never quit ;)

The adapter is flush and doesn't move at all when I put the adapter on the back of the wheel. I spent awhile after with a flat file making sure she sits flush, just don't want to screw myself lol 600hp is a little more stress than your average vw lol

Why not just grind off the entire flange? Not safe but you're never going to get it right with a grinder and file. Or take it to a machine shop and have them turn it on a lathe.
I did. I ground down the entire centerbore flange so now the adapter is basically a flat disk with studs sticking out of it. Ground about 5mm off.

we don't make anything under 20mm without a hubcentering ring because now all the stress is on the lugs. i hope this works out for you but 600hp im guessing you will shear the lugs off at some point. i hope not but good luck

brads the man, they will make any adapter you want, my current RS-IIs have an odd centerbore from a land rover, they make them both hub and wheel centric, I have talked to brad everytime I need adapters and he delivers everytime.
