Guys,

I got a ticket for not having my front plate installed in my new ride. (Texas law)
I can get dismissed if I show proof of having install the font license plate.
Obviously, I don't want to make the whole in the front bumper.
Any advise to install the front plate without making the whole in the bumper?
I remember i saw long time ago a device ton install in a side below of the from t bumper
Let me know your thoughts..

This i what my brother did. He took the original lic plate holder, and flipped it around backwards. Then he put foam behind the piece that touches the lower piece of the bumper, and held it in with an additional zip tie.

I hold the Euro plate on the front of my other ride with 3M Double-Sided Automotive tape. You can stick that on the back of the plate and stick that on your front bumper.

That definitely won't put a hole in it and you should only have to clean the contact point with spirits to remove the adhesive if you ever have to take it off.

Thanks al lot guys for you help.
I kind of like this solution.
Off course I will take it off after I got it dismissed ! :)

Ermmm... guys if your state require a front license plate what's the deal with this? I mean you have to have it like everybody else and it will be there covering the holes for the life of the car unless you plan to move to a non front license plate state. I can understand this from people that order cars in states with this law to take them to their current non front lic. plate state.:D Anyway, I like TCM GLX's brother idea.

I've been doing the bumper tied to the lower vents/spoiler for years. never had a prob. cops don't seem to care as long as there is a plate in the front.
Me too, but i dont run it sometimes. Only law dogs that seem to care are State Troopers and Sheriffs.
But if you get one here it usually is a fix it ticket, simply put a plate on and take a picture of it and it will be dismissed

Wow
This is Strange
I live in Texas also & my car already had license plate hollder installed .
Salesman screwed them on when tags arrived .
But i see your point ,
I don't think i would want to drill holes in my new car either

DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS:laugh:

I completely agree, what's the fuss here? Just put on the plate and live with it. Not sure why by now that all 50 states don't require it. Are they looking to save a few bucks by not having to produce 2 aluminum plates for every car. Imagine living in Europe where in countries like the UK the same plate lives with the car for life (even if someone else owns it later) unless you pay top dollar for a personalized one. Oh BTW they have two plates too and they are much larger than our little rectangles.

A lot of creative ideas, but in the end how much is the ticket anyway? Is it even worth it...OR is it considered a violation with points on your license as well?

If you really don't want to comply and it's only a matter of $25 or so, why not just pay it and move on?

Because if he doesn't, he'll continue to get pulled over and ticketed for it over and over again...? That can add up fast.

Things like that make me want to live in a state that requires front plates! They also have manual versions as well, you can pull them up and push them down easily, which would be significantly cheaper. You can find all different variations on YouTube.

The URL you posted is messed up. It should be...

I like the banging noise that thing makes when the plate comes up.
