Nope, not true. I've never financed a car either... and I get one every time man. Oh well, you're not missing much.

I didn't finance - the VW & the dealer don't care - they get paid no matter what.
Maybe the dealer has to put in a request for the gifties. My dub came from Queensway (where apparently no other Toronto dubber shops - they must sell a lot of Audis)

Same here but I didn't give all "5"s on the post-delivery follow-up call so maybe the dealer got p*ssed and didn't mail in a form for stuff.

my last car (01 gti 1.8t) i use to get the magazine, my new ride (02 gti 337) i have gotton jack ....

I got you all beat!
I got a cheque in the mail from VWOA for $147CDN! ($100US)
I was like what? Apparently it was a good will gesture for all the hassle I went through with the coilpack problem (had to get three replaced in the space of two moths.)
There was a handsigned letter saying we hope this makes up for some of the inconvenience you went through and that you remain a member of the VW/Audi family.
And you know what, call me a sucker, but it did work! I was so freakin' impressed. Next car, S4! Or M3, haven't decided yet.

My dealer offered me a choice of VW logo merchandise from the in-stock showcase after my last service http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif Can't go wrong with VW tire pressure gauge.
