Search would yield results, but dxd stg2 daily seems to be what most ppl have upgraded to. Some.. not at, have been ok with stock on ko4. I was slipping on stg2, so i decided to upgrade and be done with it.

I have the southbend stage 2 endurance and it's great. Before this I just had the Southbend stage 3 drop in disk with stock pressure plate and flywheel and it didn't like the K04 all that much. My stock clutch slipping afer 4000 miles on stage 2 so I don't know how anyone could run one on a K04 unless they never moved the pedal past 1/2 way :D

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping to get away with just a stg.3 disc & use the remainder of the money I put aside for a clutch on a LSD I also hear the silent design isn't exactly silent but If the
endurance clutch is working well for you, then that will have to be the route I take. As far as noise goes, how loud is it compared to stock ?& the clutch feel, how does it feel compared to stock? These questions were directed to nick0188

after the first 1000 miles it feels like a stock pedal, its really nice actually. The non silent design can be a little noisy, but i dont mind it. turn the radio up a little, problem solved

Only problems with the silent design...none with the regular. I love the clutch. Noisy as hell but you get used to it. Holds k04 easily, but I would recommend something more than k04. Im already very bored with it after a few months.

I'm really not happy to hear the single mass flywheel is that noisy or that you are already bored with the K04. I had the K04 and all the supporting mods in mind when I purchased my GTI. The ability to run with "heavy hitters" such as the Carrera S & M3 will keep me happy with mine for years to come, I hope. We always crave more power. However, it has to end somewhere. GL & thanks again for the info.

Its definitely enough to run with some heavy hitters and definitely pretty fast. I'm not sure if I'm just getting used to it because I drive the car everyday or what, but I remember how it felt insane when I first put it in and now I don't get the same feeling.

I'm not unhappy with the single mass flywheel because I knew what I was getting into putting it in. It is very noisy though. You stop hearing it after a while of getting used to it

Good luck to you also!

I'm on mile 250 with my new K04 and Southbend Stage 2 Enduro clutch kit installed on Friday/Saturday. The clutch noise is irritating, but I quickly forget about it once I get on the gas a little bit. I'm sure exotic car owners feel the same way we do, we work on our cars to get them to another level and eventually it just becomes the norm. I for one am loving the K04 and am certain I will continue to do so. There's always more to be done, just enjoy what you have for now!

Agreed. I never thought 370 hp in a car that weighs 3000 lbs would ever get boring. I do love the K04 and it's damn fast for essentially a golf :D I guess I always have that devil on my shoulder though.

My clutch began slipping this week in 3rd, 4th and 5th.

I run the car hard a lot and also learned stick on it less then a year ago.

I'm debating between clutch masters fx300 or DXD stage 2.

Although few such as Dredman have slipped with the DXD Stage 2..

Only things to consider is I would like to eliminate the Rev hang with a single mass flywheel but as stated above it comes with the price of noise.

I would like something that grabs faster and allows me to

Any suggestions ?!

Silent design is still a single mass flywheel. I believe the disk is just different. Rev-hang is still there even with a single mass, it's built into theprogramming. It is definitly a lot better than with the dual mass though.
