After getting all of the grounds tight and double checking all connections, I turned the starter and it won't run. I removed the bolt from the fuel pressure rail and have no fuel pressure. I checked the fuel pump fuse and have power for about three seconds. I can hear the fuel pump run about the same time under the car. I am going to check and see if it has a pump in the tank also. I am assuming that the transfer pump in the tank is not allowing fuel to go to the secondary pump under the car. Does this sound correct? Any other ideas? The car has sat for a couple of years and I did pour new gas in.

you can change over to the mk3 tank with its one main fuel pump assembly in tank...those sending units/in tank pump holders are like $150 new, if you can find them for sale...also, start looking for people parting out mk2s in your area, and try to find someone selling one used...check local junkyards as well.....

Yeah I am having ZERO luck finding one and the ones I found were in Germany and Sweden!
Do you have to do any wiring or is this a plug and play deal?

with the mk3 tank? youll have to do some research, as Ive never done that mod before...
if I can give you one bit of advice. If you do just replace the transfer pump witch is easy and not that expensive to do once its installed check that while running the main pump's resistance ohms are with in spec. When people drive on wearing transfer pumps it puts alot of strain into the main pump.
