:banghead::banghead:I change the coil pack and idk what else could it be will someone give me some advice.
Easiest thing to try next is to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the ECU then let it go through TBA (Throttle Body Adaptation) and see if it resets itself to a lower idle. Takes hardly any effort at all so it's an easy thing to attempt.

My car idles at 1000rpm when in D (Yes, my Auto). When its in neutral it idles at 900ish. I dont know about standard MK3's. I just thought it was normal. Then again it could be just for auto :sly:

Mine idles around 750-800 (5-speed) but I've had it sit around 1k before a TBA. Also, the RPMs hop up a little when I turn on the AC to compensate for the compressor.

Could also try cleaning your MAF that always drops the RPMs a bit

Boo ya tapatalk! If you haven't got it yet get it!

Have a straight pipe shouldn't give you a lumpy idle.

If it's not a vac leak, old timing chains can do it. How old are they and miles covered?

I don't know a ton about cars, so excuse me if I am wrong, but I had a code for Idle Adaption at limit, I was idling anywhere from 700-1100 and it would jump up and down mostly when my AC was on.

I cleaned the throttle body out with some throttle body spray and a rag, the code went away, and I comfortably idle at around 800 without any jumps, even with the AC on.

Just a guess though, again, this is my first car I've ever put any of my own work into.

give the throttle body another GOOD cleaning.

This happened to me before. But mine wouldn't even stay running. I had to take the throttle body out and douche the hell outta it with Throttle cleaner.

Ever since then. I clean it out like every 2-3 months, just as preventative maintenance.

Shoot duh. Also a dirty maf is a possible culprit
