Golf Mk2 G60 fuel pump replacement

Hi,

i am going to upgrade my FP on a Mk2 G60,wich has a single pump system from VDO.

How can i remove the pump from the tank? I opened it,but tank is nearly full,so i cannot see how this whole thing comes out.

Also wich walbro do you suggest for an upgrade?

The car is converted to 16VT,running on E85,etc.

you only got one pump?

if so. then the pump unit is mounted to the bottom of the tank, you have to "get down there" and twist

but, to my knowledge (and ETKA), the MK2 don't have just one pump stock

Hi,

yes,i have only one pump,the VDO one in the tank. This G60 was from the USA,so maybe thats the reason.

So the unit needs to be turned to lock out?

according to ETKA, the parts catalogue, MK2's didn't come with only one pump.. but can't the MK3 tank be fitted? maybe thats whats happend?

if so. then reach down into the tank and twist

Hi,

i dont know the background of the car,the owner told me,its the original G60.

Thanks for the help,i will try to twist off the FP housing today!
