My car is having delayed shifting (2.0t Auto) when shifting from Park to Drive. Also, whenever im slowing down to turn right or left, and press the gas, it seems to lurch forwars, as it is still downshifting, which seems to be really delayed. Im hoping its the Valve Body since its covered under extended warranty until October, and want to get this taken care of before I trade this piece of crap in for a Ford or Honda. Its in the shop (won't let VW touch it since the dealer screwed up several times), and was wondering if this sounds like an issue of the Valve Body... I appreciate your input! Thanks...

I've brought it in 3 different times, and they keep saying the mechanic doesnt feel anything... it ticks me off, because its like someone is rear ending you when your slowing down to turn...
I just had my valve body replaced a couple of weeks ago at Wallace in Stuart FL. Before the valve body replacement had harsh shifting on 1-2 and 2-3 upshifts as well as the occasional downshift. Felt like a kick in the butt. Afer the replacement, shifts were largely imperceptible. I know Stuart is kind of far, for you, but if you find yourself down that way, I highly recommend them.

its def the valve body which is covered up to i think 100,000 miles. i had mine done when i didnt even have an issue. (ofcourse my buddy worked at vw and purposly failed the valve test for me) but i cannot believe that they are not going to fix it for you. on another note. i had a cam follower fail and take out a **** load of stuff which ended up costing 2100 out of pocket before i found out about the extended warranty on that. i took that to a private mechanic. i sent vw my bill which they said they would pay back and they only gave me 1350 back saying that the labor cost where way off. my buddys place charged me for half the labor at a rate lower than what vw charges. so i would def try and call vw of america and tell them that your closest dealer is refusing service of a warrantied item so you dont have to pay out of pocket

Issue Resolved

Purchased a 2102 SE 4Mot over the weekend. Experienced early shift issues and lugging so I brought it to VW with the TSB thread on Vortex. They replaced the Valve Body ( I assume because it has REPL VALVE BOY on the invoice) as well as a transmission update #20120810. Problem resolved. Still shifts a little early but that is to be expected with the car market trying to be as frugal as possible. Hope this helps.

Jerky shifting went away after my APR flash. No matter which tune I select, the transmission is very smooth, almost like one from GM.
Smooth from GM? What does GM stands for?

I'm so glad I have none of this issues other than that weird feeling of the car shifting too early when cruising....

It actually is one of my favorite points to mention when I'm showing off my car the way that you can't or barely can feel the transition changing gears.

So whats the actual warranty on this? 100K?

ive had my valve body replaced under warranty as well. Always had a real harsh 1-2 shift when the car was cold--it would only do it once, never would repeat at operating temp. Been smooth as butter cold or hot after replacement.
