...the front left one makes seems to make the most noise ('course, that might be because I sit in the driver's seat).
I hear this kind of 'wobbling' sound - like when you take a sheet of metal and bend it back and forth. I checked the lugs- they all seem to be on tight....are my wheels just old?....the thread still looks good...

Re: Got my wheels rotated- now they sound funny... (Xave)

It isn't uncommon for tires to sound different once you have your wheels rotated. It's something about a tire wearing slightly differently at a different location on the car. At least that's what a tire place told me when I noticed that on my car once.

I'd be surprised if they weren't ROARING at speed

Gotta do it every 6k with the not-so-soft longer wearing tire variety, every 3k with the soft-sticky tire variety. This will usually keep noise to a minimum right down to the wear bars.
If there isn't severe vibration, then the noise is probably nothing to worry about. Just abuse these puppies so they wear out faster. What kind of tires are they?

I know, I know...I'm foolish. I kept forgetting everytime I brought it in for something.
They are the original tires that come with the 2002 Jetta GLS. I've got new ones picked out at Sam's- But I'm going to wait till the end of summer to get them.

Re: (Xave)

Easy way to remember is to do it with every oil change if you are following the VW recommendation (7500k, right?), or every other oil change if you are still doing changes every 3k miles ...

Your tires are feathered. Run your hand on the edge of each front tire. If the tread is not smooth that is your problem.

So, they're not evenly worn? Is that what you're saying?
I don't have to worry about these things blowin' up on me do I?
