I'm going to say yes, we both drive "with a purpose". Although I am told I am smoother, (less hard breaking/acceleration). :D
The same here, we're both aggressive drivers, alas I'm much smoother, and don't look like a douche when I change lanes etc, where as if you're driving behind him, he looks like he's cutting everyone off with sharp turns and lane changes.

im a couple towns over and i know what youre talking about. its not too bad at rush hour but if i were driving around at 2 in the morning i would probably do the same thing.

Definitely. Ever since I was young enough to remember, he's been narrating and teaching me while driving. Hell, he survived the swinging sixties while driving a Ford Cobra for several years. That should be proof enough of his abilities.

In some ways, yes. He's a good driver and I'm sure that rubbed off on me. He also helped me learn how to back into spaces.

However, he also started driving slower and slower when I was learning how to drive. In that way, no, I do not drive like him. He often drives under the speed limit, I drive the speed limit or a mile or two an hour over.

Yep; I drive just like him. My dad was a top fuel dragster pilot, and road raced while I was growing up.

Consequently he drove fast on the highways and back Roads, but never tailgated or sped through neighborhoods.

We drive the same

I used to tailgate it until my girlfriend (now wife) pointed it out several years ago. I realize now I picked that habit up from my dad.

Now that I've got a wife, kids, career, mortgage, etc.... I'm a MUCH less aggressive driver. I'd like to go back 10 years and smack the 27 year old me in the head.

About 20 years ago, my dad used to take me and my brother to sunday breakfast in a nearby town, about 45 km, that trip used to be the worst of any trip...he drove like 60-70 kmph (40 mph) all the way...i was 15-16 and my brother was 18....both usually hang over as hell, and those breakfast trips made me HATE driving the way he does...at the same time i got my first brand new car and that always bugged me....
Not that i like to drive stupid fast, but aware of surroundings, and flowing, just not turtle-pace....

Used to drive like any other ******* 16 year old, up until I lost my license at 17 for racing. After that I calmed down and drove like my dad, who drives trucks for a living.

Wasn't until I was about 21 until I calmed down even more since I drove a company vehicle, and now usually have about 4 seconds of following distance between myself and the car in front of me, as well as trying to keep an open lane. I constantly change lanes so I have an idea of whats going on around me and so I can stay rolling instead of getting caught up behind slowpokes.

One of my parent's fondest driving stories is a 1200km PCA trip in their then-new 964 Turbo.
Apparently the usually 12-14 hour drive was done in 7 hours.
I couldn't imagine trying that **** in the present day... it must've been a blast

I guess I did inherit his love for porsches and motorsports. It helped growing up with something cool in the garage at all times!

I do pretty much drive like my dad, yes. Calm, yet passive aggressive.

At the beginning, yes. I used to drive as dumb as him. Now, I wouldn't let any potential driver in a car with him if I could help it. I'm honestly embarassed to be in the car with him a lot of the time. Particularily now that he has a 4wd SUV. He thinks he's the hottest **** in snow and will go around anybody going too slow for him, no matter how dangerous it is. He's going to get in an accident and it's a miracle he doesn't on a daily basis.
