Anyone ever mount their cd player down where the cupholders are?

I might have to do something like this in my car. Just wondering if anyone has mounted their cd player (or similar item) down where the (so called) cupholders are. It looks like its possible, I would just have to dremel out some plastic to make it fit. Pics would be cool if you have done this.

That's pertty much how I did mine... then I took some speaker mesh and covered the rest of the cup holder area, glued and screwed it in then filled the rest... lots of sanding and filling but it looks good now...

I gotta TV down there. I keep messing with it cuz I'm never quite satisfied how it looks. Your best bet is probably to cover it with Folia tec Carbon fiber film after filling it in, or the real stuff if you can do that kinda thing.

It looks clean and whatnot, but not the safest place to mount your deck. Looking down there takes your eyes off the road a lot longer than the OEM location.

I'm gonna mount my ull or half din equalizer down there. Should look good and more importantly function well. I'd love to do a screen down there connected to a computer for the ultimate in MP3 bliss, but alas... that'll all cost me too much

blackvento36, what did u use for that tv around it, looks really good, i just mounted a 5.6 down there but i just used carbon fiber tim around it, it looks alright but urs looks really good

I molded in the trim ring from my stereo... used some speaker mesh and cut it so that it would cover the hole and glued and used screws so that it would be a strong backing for the fiberglass (so it won't fall thru the back...) filled it then used bondo and sanded it down smooth... I'll take pics of it as it is now and I'll upload them in a lil bit... As for looking down at the stereo, mine is voice activated... I never look down at it anymore...
