What is the max. RPM's for the K03 turbocharger?
Does it spool fast since it's so small?
How much faster does it spool with a chip?

Thanks. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: k03 RPM question (Tadd)

No self bumping after less than 20 minutes.

The spool time isn't affected by a chip. It is affected by wastegate control, ie N75, exhaust and intake size and restrictiveness. K03's spin at 60-150K rpms.

Now you know why it'll glow orange.

I did about 5 pulls on the interstate the other night flooring it to 80 and slamming on the brakes down to 30 (testing brake setup) and repeating. Pulled over shortly after and the turbo was so bright, it lit up the back of the engine bay.

I would but I never got around to taking a picture of it. That turbo is no longer on the car and I am now putting on a Airwerks S-100 which I am trying to hit the 500 crank hp mark with. Here is a pic of the new turbo with a stock Audi key remote.

How does the turbo itself glow orange when it has engine coolant flowing through it? (Or, are we talking about the downpipe/exhaust etc.).

The manifold, turbine housing (ie hot side of turbo) and the DP will all glow if you drive hard enough. That's how much heat it is making.

Actually the coolant and oil only flow thru the center section of the turbo, this is the section that houses the saft that holds the 2 wheels together. The part that will glow orange and even white is the turbo exhaust housing which is the part that the exhaust gas flows thru to get to the exhaust pipe.
AXIS, thanks. I just hope to have it installed and tuned in the next few weeks. Still trying to get the car ready for the EC 1.8t challenge that is being held in NJ and I live in Socal.

It's not really white, it was actually bright freakin orange (could have something to do with how lean I was running), but the camera found it as a light source and messed up the colors. oh well you get the idea.
