so i was replacing my fuel accumlator yesturday and in the process of getting it out. i cracked the side of the fuel box(right at the seam i believe. to mad to continue to work on it at this point). i dont have anothe box for the car and was wondering if i can replace the box with a walbro fuel pump or another pump and get rid of the box(where fuel filter/external pump go to).

i have built this car for improved toruing also

You can use the Mk 1 pump. Punch the end out of the box so that the Pump inlet protrudes. I also had my return line fill the low pressure line, with 2 big T fittings.
Run the LP line up to the floor, so that the entry line into the HP pump is vertical. This keeps air out.

If you dont like that solution. You can make a fuel can and feed the HP pump.

See the easy cheap way here; http://gallery.oracool.net/v/album82/protech/Cheaps/Rocc+015.jpg.html

do you have pictures of how to do this? or what it looks like? just to make sure we are on same page. we are talking about the box under the car where the main fuel pump goes into correct?

Remove the Mk 2 pump. There are 2 or more sizes, (OD of pumps) It doesnt matter which one you have , as the plastic box is merely going to mount the Mk 1 pump.\

Compare the Mk 1 pump and the removed pump. You will see what I mean to drill, punch, a hole where the inlet for new pump is. The stock fuel transfer line may need the end cut off and some adapter to fit the 12mm inlet.
The transfer line is where I install the T fittings to bleed out the air. Connect the return line to the transfer line, in a fashion that promotes filling the transfer line, bleeding the excess retun fuel back to the stock return line, into the tank.

The nice thing about doing it this way is that all of the stock HP lines are retained.
