if you want to avoid the "ricey" cool blue light superbrightleds usually offers a cool and a pure white in most of the sizes and bases they have.
Yeah. This is what I ended up with. Tried to match the grey of the exterior, and ended up with this. Some day I'll change them. It's a little embarrassing now. I should have gotten plain white. The ricey blue just doesn't belong on the van. It's neither fast or furious.

This is pretty common practice in RVs where you need to leave the lights on for longer periods than you typically would in a car. Check out Camping World's website and see if they have lights that fit your application. In my experience the stuff they're selling is more expensive but much better quality than a lot of the cheaper stuff out there,

I'm using them in my overhead lighting in the kitchen and dining area in the RV and I like them a lot.

For my A3 I purchased LED's at http://www.vleds.com/ Like many have said it's not cheap, I spent around $70. There are 6 bulbs in the headliner 4 in the front dome light which includes 2 map lights and 2 in the rear maplights. I got the Super Bright White LEDs, the main two LEDs have heatsinks in them to prevent them from overheating. It is super bright. I would recommend them.

Tried them in the GLI, loved them for about a week. Then I noticed that they would remain very dimly lit with the car completely off. Some research showed that many people have issues with them still being lit because LED's require such small amounts of power that they can still light up with a slight draw.

Only way around it would be to install resistors in the wiring which means not only popping the covers and replacing the bulbs, but also pulling out the whole unit and adding the resistors. Too much work for just an LED look. Some people are fine with the bulb still being lit a bit but I am too OCD and it bothers the crap out of me.

I've switched back to standard bulbs again and am looking into it because I want to see if they sell LEDs that have built in resistors.

I put them in the dash of the '55 Porsche. They made an enormous difference. I tried using LED tail light bulbs but there was insufficient draw to make the blinkers work. I have an electronic flasher. We'll see if that solves the problem.

What? I feel like I don't even know you anymore, man.
Having a totally trouble free daily driver is pretty sweet.

I leave the dome light off in the BMW; I even removed the glove box bulb; I don't trust old German cars and power draw.

I'd like to know what kind of girls you're dealing with that are turned on by nice interior lights. :screwy:
Cardomain girls.

I did LEDs for the rear plate lights on my car; looks great on a white car.

I'm thinking of doing the interior lights in LED; seems like a really inexpensive and practical upgrade.

I have a 2010 Jetta TDI Cup Edition with mkvi electronics. Can I use the mkvi led reverse lights on my car? Secondly, should I be ordering GLI or non-GLI footwell lights?

My friend has been telling me to LED out my interior for awhile. His B8 S4 has a white LED package installed. It's just too harsh IMO. I like clean, white lighting just about everywhere... rear plate, trunk light... The interior is one place I think soft yellow lighting works. After a long drive in the night, stopping at a rest area - the last thing I want is instant on white lighting in my face. Lexus does this well with their dome lights with a gradual light up phase. Feels luxurious to me and still plenty bright.

To each their own I guess.

I agree with you except for the trunk of the A3 pictured on page 1. Half the time I don't even know what lurks in the great abyss I call the trunk of my Jetta.
