I'm try a figure out why can I do to my v6 can u turbo this kind of engine? And how and also how else can I make the cars performance higher? I'd rather start from the inside out rather than slam it and throw wheels on it. Il slam it after I get some moar power under the hood. Any ideas??

The best and nearly the only option for significant power gains is the PES supercharger setup. That's $4000 (new list price) and gets you another 100 HP. There are rumors of an upcoming turbocharger kit, but don't expect it to cost less or do more, than the PES.

A lash-up turbo on a computer-controlled engine isn't really in the cards, unless you completely re-engineer everything.

You can diddle with a chip and/or an exhaust, but don't expect to get more than 6-10 HP gain. This really isn't an engine for modding.

Yea if you wanna do mods should have had a 1.8t get a lot of fun out of our engines! As for a v6 you can't to much. If you went back to the 90's and had a VR6! Then were talking! That's the six cylinder that you wanna mod!

PES supercharger is about the only thing.
Actually 034 Motorsports makes a turbo kit that fits a single turbo at the top of the engine on the stock exhaust manifolds. So that's an option, They said on stock internals you should be able to do 300-400 wheel hp. Anything beyond that and you'll need to go to forged internals.

Hah missed the other guy posting about it, but yeah I've been talking to Matt from 034 about that kit for a while now.

Snag the rear end and gas tank from a 4 motion and swap in a 2.7t!

I don't tihnk this will work? Especially if it's a FWD. Also you can swap in a 2.7T into a FWD it's been done no need to change out the rear end or anything.

The only thing is, if you do a 2.7T swap from what I gather you are limited to about 400 wheel hp on both the 2.8 and 2.7, and generally people prefer the top end of the 2.8. To go beyond this power point you need to do forged internals and a nice clutch. On an auto it gets way more expensive to pass that point because the tranny needs to be built.

Ask me how I know you are wrong. The name kinda gives it away.

The passat and a4 share the same design, the 2.7t from an a6 or s4 mounts right into the same vehicles that came equipped with the v6, I think slight modification for the 1.8t models. The passat fwd and 4 motion are the same design, all you need is the complete rear end including suspension and axles. The gas tank from a fwd doesnt fit with the 4mo rear end which is why you need that gas tank or a fuel cell in the trunk. He already has a 2.8 so he could just swap the heads while doing the swap, **** he could even just swap in the 2.7t and later down the road he can pick up the 4mo parts to make it awd.

Ask me how I know you are wrong? The rear on the passat is completely different fwd to awd u need to cut and replace the entire rear floor pan to put the 4-motion into a fwd passat

's true. Haven't done it myself, but unless you've developed some new magic technique (and have actually done it) you have to cut and weld the entire rear floor pan. That's how the one or two I've heard of have been done, and I din't think they did it for their health.

BUT, wasn't the OP talking about more power from his 2.8, not swapping the engine or going 4Mo?
