Re: REVO? (ReflexGTI1.8T)
RevoTechnik is a company formed by APR Europe Employees.
There is a lawsuit against them by APR US, about stolen intellectual property by former APR employees.
The reason REVO is all over the forums right now, is due to their unique method of uploading software through OBDII port, instead of replacing the stock ECU.
So you keep your stock ecu, go to a REVO dealer and in 10 mins they upload the software into your ecu. and your ready to go.
REVO claims that the software is totally undetectable by dealers and if the dealers do decide to REFLASH your ECU, thinking you have some aftermarket software running in it, most REVO dealers will reflash your software for free. And so your back in performance mode
Revo also makes a device called SPS. Retails between 199 - 349$
depending on what kind you get. SPS1, SPS2 or SPS3.
- These devices allow you to configure the chip (Boost times , Bar etc)
- Allow you to switch back to STOCK
- Enable/disable Anti-Theft
And some other features.
My take on Revo:
-I think they've probably got ECU tuning going in the right direction finally. (Undetectable, non-hardware upgrades).
- They may not have as much experience as APR, even though they are all ex-APR employees, I haven't seen enough evidence of R&D and testing.
- If their lawsuit is cleared, REVO might be the way to go. Unless you wanna wait till APR comes out with Serial Programming / Undetectable software.
PLEASE don't turn this reply into a REVO vs. APR. Cause I don't have time to waste on the argument!
