Hey guys, I currently own a MK3 Jetta in white and am about to pick up a MK6 Jetta tomorrow or Saturday. I wanted to get your honest opinions on what color I should acquire. Yes, I have white already so that's been taken into consideration.

What color do you have, what color would you have gotten instead?

I got black for me nothing looks better then black when clean. I was going to get the red bit red fades and is hard to match if ever there is damage done to the car. Its also a ticket magnet. But it looks nice and stands out. White is nice but my town is full of white VWs. Silver is boring but always looks clean if your lazy and never clean your car.

I've got black which is nice when clean. Actually wanted white, but all of the white ones on lots either had poorly aligned bumpers or the underside of the rear bumper was warped and/or the tow hook cover was messed up.

Platinum gray is nice, but I don't know...it just seems a little "flat" to me compared to the metallic charcoal grays other manufacturer's have, like it's just missing a little something. Still nice though.

Honestly I like red, even though as mentioned red requires a lot of waxing/sealing to protect from UV, and really should only be had if you can park in a garage at work all day rather than out in the sun since red paints don't have much pigment and thus do fade quickly (actually silver is also susceptible to fading like red, but it's a lot harder to see the fade on a silver car).

I'm a bit bummed that red is returning to the SEL for '14, always thought that looked sharp on the '11/'12 SELs or on the TDI Premium/Nav, none of which I ever see in red...for '13 all you could get was a palette of boring for the SEL - black/white/gray/silver/moonrock (gold).

I'd go red and take great care of it.

Before buying my car I was hesitant between black and candy white. Finally went with candy white because it's easier to see scratches and imperfection on black. White is also cooler during hot summer days. But to me they're close match!

I loved mine in black... it was just hard to take care of and needed a wax often, as I always took it through automatic washes.

I always loved platinum gray and blue metallic though.

I have platinum gray now, and it looks pretty clean all the time.

I have had Silver in a previous MK4 Jetta and currently a MK6 Jetta in Black. The MK6 IMO only looks good in a few colors. Black and Charcoal due to the body lines this chassis has. Sorry if that doesn't fit with others opinions, it's just mine.

I like Candy White.

Love my GLI in Tornado Red. Figured I'd show some love for the TR crowd:thumbup:

^^ Valid points for consideration. Black is beautiful when shiny, almost went with the black/beige combo. Gave serious thought to the tempest red, but I don't need the policia giving me extra attention

Tempest blue/beige. and Iluuuuuuuvit
