Can you negotiate the price? And is there a mileage limit? 6 years or xx,xxx miles whichever comes first?

You should be able to get a brake job out of the plan. Especially nice since I'm sure JCW pads and rotors cost more than standard pads and rotors. And don't forget, take it in every two years for a brake fluid flush which is included in the plan.

If the price is right, then I might do it also since during the course of a 5 year loan, you just pay for gas. Oh, and I believe tire rotations which I don't believe is part of the Mini maintenance plan
The extended plans are 6 years/100k miles. From what I've been told the maintenance plan covers everything that the car requires to include brake pads, rotors, and even a clutch. The parts must meet the wear requirements before they will replace them though. Here is a good thread on the plans. http://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-2007/176704-extended-maintenance-program-6-year-100k-miles-contract-terms.html. I can't speak about pricing because my JCW was lightly used and the previous owner bought the plans which transferred to me. It's nice knowing that I won't have to put any money into the car aside from gas and tires for the next 5.5 years though.

I'm actually thinking about adding the steering wheel controls. Apparently there's a kit (albeit an expensive one) and the install isn't THAT bad.
And they come in black; I was considering swapping the silver set out for the black at some point.

Speaking of expensive, I looked at the prices for retro fitting the OEM driving lamps...:sly:

FYI I've had the brake pads replaced under the standard maintenance plan and the clutch replaced under warranty.

People complain about MINIs being expensive, but the service is really stellar.

I really hope you didn't pay more than $30k for a Mini..
Douche.

I did and I really don't feel bad about it at all. I think about all of the other cars I was considering, some with substantially more power and features, and I don't think that I could've purchased anything that is more fun (to me) than this. If I need more power, I still have my STI. Having driven the STI daily for about 5 years, having something that handles like the GP while getting over 30 mpg is awesome.
That's awesome. I love that this car even exists. Companies build cars like this, and people have to try and come up with dumb reasons NOT to like them. Thanks for buying a niche model and adding to the statistics that help keep cars like this in production.:thumbup:

Have you heard of Google?

dude, at first I didn't want to get on the "hating vswager" bandwagon ... but man, oh man... you're :banghead:  :screwy:

* Awesome GP! I couldn't mod one either.
Put him on your ignore list already.

Heck no. Dealer near me had 9 in stock since May and currently has 7 in stock. They sold 2 last month when MINI offered 0.9% APR for 60mo.

They have a demo for $37k right now.
You must live in a pretty big market. I think we only got 4 at the only Mini dealership in Indiana. They still have one left as of Saturday.

Dude, what's with you? I feel like every time I see you post, it's to talk down on someone else's car.

WOW! I had no idea these were fetching that kind of money. :what:
$41K for the JCW (non-GP) Coupe I tested a while back. They aren't cheap.

@OP--congrats! There are few cars on the road more fun to drive.

Nope, no rear seats. I've found they are fairly useless in the regular hardtop anyway so I'm not really going to miss them.
Only thing I can think of that fits in the back is my stepson or my backpack and work clothes in the morning.

Still think it's amazing that people are coming in here and so blatantly attacking the OP's decision. Cars like this are what makes the industry exciting.
