I feel like this GIF just about sums up this thread.

Hi Mr.B

PS: send Brandon more Cat Facts
That's pretty awesome, I hope I can compete with that gif. I sent Brandon plenty of cat facts and the fox one too, I hope he's been getting him.....I'll send another 10 or 15 tonight :p

I didn't get as much done as I wanted today. I would have got the crossmember done, but due to some design changes I couldn't get the high grade bolts I wanted and 8.8 wasn't going to cut it. Speaking of, if anybody knows a local place in North ersey where I can get grade 10 and 12 fasteners I would appreciate a suggestion, it would be nice to move onto the steering or rear end this week.

Here is what I did get done. First I drilled holes in the both the floor mounted crossmember and the bottom mount.

Then I built the top brace to connect the 2 sides of the crossmember.

Notched for the shifter.

As you can see in the previous pictures the support goes over the bolt holes, which mean that once I weld it up they're in there for the duration. Now I could put the 8.8s in that I have and weld the floor crossmembers to the the one attached to the mount, but at that point I would need to slide the trans forward about 3-4 inches to remove it. This causes a problem as my serpentine assembly is 2 inches on the nose from the front radiator shelf, which would mean that I would need to remove the engine first everytime I wanted to drop the trans, which I'm really not a fan of.

After that mishap I decided to test fit the hood, just to confirm everything fit properly.
Nothing under here guys, just an old 8v

Then I took this shot cause it gave me a big **** eating grin.

That's all for now, hopefully I find a fastener supplier locally, if not I'll start on something else tomorrow.

Snitch ****** deluxe.

Jon how does that shifter sit compared to the 02a? Looks a little further toward.

Haa, busting out the SND on people. It does sit a bit farther forward, but I have a fix for that ;)

whats the plan for the front axles?
cut the spline off the front axles and install them in the spindle to keep the wheel bearings from crushing.

Where in North Jersey are you? I work down the street from an industrial tool and hardware supply place. They usually have some high grade stuff..

Clifton, right on the Passiac border.

Damn man, that's like 30 minutes from where I work. The place I'm talking about is called Scheaffer Supply in Dover NJ. Their website is garbage, but it does have their phone number on there and you could try calling them and seeing if they have what you're looking for.

They didn't have it so I ordered with bolt depot, they allow you to order single bolts unlike McMaster so I saved about $20  You're more than welcome to come over and check it out anytime, just shoot me a pm
