Figured I may as well start this now rather than later before I start forgetting stuff. This will be a very slow progression so be warned :D

February 18th, 2014, picked her up from the dealer:

Drove her about a week and ticked over 90k miles

And about a week after.....

A leaky valve cover gasket had led to a failing coil pack.
As of Friday March 21st 2014 the car is back on the road again

+1 for another Silverstone grey BDF

What are your plans?

Plans include but are not limited to, AWE catback, Euro sport cool-flo intake, maybe an ECU tune, coilovers (or at least adjustable damping shocks, don't really care for ride height adjustment). Probably do the later model cupholder console conversion and delete the the damn dash mounted ones or make a little cubby hole there.

Also, BDF?

Oh and it desperately needs a sound system, gonna get rid of everything to do with the Monsoon, new Kenwood 5 channel amp pushing 40 watts to each speaker and 500 watts to a 12in JL flat sub, and a Kenwood Double DIN. And a looooot of tracking down rattles. Long term plans are basically a 20thAE replica with Aristos, skirts, valences, and the hatch spoiler. Nothing crazy, I want it to still look like it could have rolled out of the factory. Might do a respray a different color, I like the Jazz Blue, or I'm a big fan of purple on mkiv's. I dunno. If I have money to burn I'll do that (not likely lol)

Also, BDF?
Nice! I'm more into that route aside from the sound system.

Sorry I forgot to clarify, BDF is the engine code of the 24v VR6, I have one in silverstone grey as well

Cool deal! I'm thinking I'm gonna work from the inside out, since it's my DD and need to get the interior looking good, sounding good, and functional. Then I'll worry about the outside stuff. I dunno what it is about the Monsoon, but it just sounds like **** to me no matter what I do. It's too damn loud (coming from an 18 year old bass-head) and there's absolutely no clarity. And the radio reception sucks and I can't plug in my ipod so it's literally worthless to me lol. :banghead:

Installed LED interior light kit from deAutoKey.com, having some issues with the license plate lights but kudos to them for speedy responses to my emails.

Also was out with my buddy car shopping last night and saw the picture opportunity, that's why I keep a camera in the car

Love Silverstone.
As Passattimmy said, its the greatest color Volkswagen has ever produced.

Oh, and the badges on your hatch look weird like that.

My dipstick from Gruven came in yesterday, very nice product. Seems they may have used too large an o-ring though, after I oiled it up and seated it the first time it tore the ring. I found a smaller one and replaced it, works fine now.

Surprisingly subtle

The clearcoat on my grill had started to fade and crack so I decided to plastidip it for now, and my lowers were faded so i did them too so they'd all match. The middle I hit with 300 grit sandpaper to cut through the clear, then hit it with 1500 before paint, then degreased it. The lowers I just hit with the 1500 and degreased. Came out pretty good. dunno how long it'll last though. I figured if people are painting their whole cars with this stuff it outta be fine

Debadged the car today

Good ole dental floss

All the letters off

Left a lot of adhesive tape crap behind

Thanks to a soft plastic putty knife and 3m adhesive remover, cleaned up nice

Clean hatch is clean :D
