I understand that the initial choice of name is Forza Rossa. So I'm guessing the team will use Ferrari engines.
That's actually another team applying, headed by former HRT teamboss Colin Kolles.

Btw, Haas apparently has talked with Mercedes about their power unit as well. It has been hinted that Honda would more than likely NOT be considered as a supplier.....

So other than McClaren, anyone else considering going Honda? McClaren is getting the engines free from reports but I would think they'd sure like to sell some to defer the costs and increase efficiencies.

Read a story that Haas wants to HQ out of NC rather than set up shop in England like most of the F1 teams. The writer questioned whether that was feasible for a new team based upon the suppliers needed to get going in F1. Will this be just an American pride thing that could bite them in the ass?

I think there is a lot of support in that area. Lot's of racing know-how from NASCAR, etc.,..HAAS owns a state of the art wind-tunnel which already has been used by Formula 1 teams.

He states that 8-9 races are in Europe and the rest are elsewhere. Cars are light and can easily be shipped anywhere. Kannapolis (near Charlotte) has 2-3 flights to Munich each week, so logistically it will not be too difficult. Dallara is rumored to be their chassis supplier.

yep, that's the word on the street. Considering they're planning to be on the grid by 2015, going to Dallara is a logical choice. But I'm hoping they're eventually building their own chassis.

Yeah, USF1 was a fiasco. But at least they were building their own chassis from the get-go. And you have to respect them for that.

Did they ever produce a thing? I remember seeing some very unprofessional looking guys in shorts standing in front of a couple CNC machines.
Not too shabby for just standing around a couple of CNC machines no?

They even managed to get their nose cone crash tested by the FIA:

Heck, they even produced their own gearbox with a partner Emco instead of a off the shelf Xtrac unit. I'm still sad to see the whole thing hit the fan considering they were building pretty much everything in house :(

Haas F1 team's FB page is not up under "Haas F1". please shoot them a like for support.
