Update: I got my tune this past weekend and ended up with a surprise that I'm not quite I'm happy about. I drove out to APTuning in Lebanon, PA to get my APR Stage 1 tune, ESC defeat, and my ECS Red Dogbone Mount insert install They did a great job and was in and out in just over an hour. Thank you APTuning!

The good news: it turned out that my car had a HPFP installed, so I ended up with a Stage 1+ tune.

The bad news: they could see that it had a APR Stage 2+ tune on it at one time.

Now I'm running the Stage 1+ and the car feels great, but I'm concerned with the engine, trans, and clutch health. I picked up the car at a Mini/BMW dealer in Mount Laurel, NJ and they told me the car was traded in for a BMW (not a CPO). The Carfax stated that the car was purchased in California and had just over 19,000 miles. Does anyone here happen to know if a member here traded in there CSG 4 door R? There's not much I can do about it now, but I would just like to know a little more about the car's history.

Also, I was reading up on the Soundaktor, but when I checked it on my car it was already disconnected. I wonder what else I'll find out as time goes by.
You didnt have to pay full price for the tune did you? I was a little confused your car wasnt CPO or the BMW wasn't? I would assume that with all the jersey R owners on here that someone will or might know whos it was and maybe shed some light.

Yes, they did give me a discount on my tune.

Sorry. I meant my R was not a CPO.

Well hey thats good news then 150 for an APR tune. Gotta see the light in the dark sometimes. I was 1+ at one point too as I couldnt decide what DP and intake to get but yeah from 1 to 1+ you won't notice much but atleast that HPFP mod is out of the way now 2+ is real close. As far as wear on the car it sucks it wasn't CPO'd from what people have said around here it may be a good idea to start putting money away for a clutch replacement at some point. As long as you aren't slipping bad now you should be ok, and check the cam follower asap.

Thanks for the advice. The clutch feels okay so far. I'll order a replacement cam follower ASAP.

As a side note, I am noticing a lot of side to side play on the shifter when in gear. Is this something that can be adjusted? The throw seems a bit long for my liking too, so I'm thinking a short shift kit is in my future.

Just reiterating the need to replace your cam follower with the OEM piece asap.

Especially since your car has had the APR HPFP for potentially close to 20k miles.

Change it asap.

Lucky you, on the fuel pump and discounted tune!

being a NASA guy, next is a set of camber plates and a big rear bar. made a huge difference on my car. another thing you might want to save for is a competition haldex controller.

Oh and something I wish was told to me, dont bother getting track pads for the rear. just get good ones for the front. the rears are too hard to swap at the track, and they dont do much for stopping the car anyway.

Thanks for the info! I've been researching suspensions and I'm leaning towards VWR springs, Bilstein B8 sports, Ground Control front camber plates, and a VWR rear sway. I'm also considering the Haldex Competition Controller, but am waiting to see the price and results from the UM Haldex Flash. As for the brakes, good idea for the rears. I'll most likely try to run a streetable Carbotech setup front and rear, and just swap out the fronts at the track like you said. I was thinking of XP8's all around and then swap out to XP12's or XP20's in the front for track days.
