Was wondering if anyone has done it on a GLI yet and if there are any pics of it. Exploring the idea of removing the texture and painting gloss black. Also maybe do the side skirts and the front lip or would that be too much? Maybe diffuser and sides only? If I decide to do the side skirts what should I use to stick them back on.

What do you guys think? Would that look good or weird?

it doesn't look bad at all, the gloss paint, skirts and lips make a nice contrast. but imo if your going to do one your best to do them all, that consistency. heres a link to a guy i follow on instagram. his gli (previous build) was all glossed out, hope this helps!

nope, there will always be something to do !
lol ya I remember someone saying it was like a disease I know what he meant now. So diffuser, side skirts and front lip. But what about the fog light trim? Looks like it's gonna be hard to paint. People don't paint it all the way to where it surrounds the fog light which looks weird imo. Should I leave it alone?

i would probably paint it too. JUst gotta remove everything and separate it to ease with the painting process.

the gloss looks awesome, and you take off everything and have it painted in pieces, fog light housing included yeah! and i have spent about 10k on my car so far in my first year owning it with upgrades so i know your pain.

I noticed the lower bumper grille is matte not like the top. Seems that this part will be hard to sand. I won't do any of the work myself. Would a body shop be able to do this part as well or there is more chance that they'll screw it up?
