so a couple weeks ago I bought a 1992 Gli it needs work including body work and mechanical work, my goal is to build a daily driver that I can still go up to the mountain roads and rip on, any input anyone has about part ideas and all other kinds of modifications im all ears!

Hard call, the stock trim really screams plastic so I would paint the trunk first and put it on without the stock trim and see what you think. If you don't like it stick the newer trim on and see what you think. My Jetta is black so these things don't stick out as much but with red it is a lot more obvious. I do like the look of the trunk without the plastic trim so give it a try either way. The body work on the rear turned out really well.

If it wasn't for the 14 hour drive one way I would. I'll probably just have it done locally. And then decide on how to fix the failed clear on the hood, roof and trunk. I'm thinking black plasticoat.

Mine has I think three dents but all are on the passenger side and on good paint. So they can just stay. Hood, roof and trunk have no dents.

I don't like the clear tails at all, or the wheels, but other than that the car looks really clean. Nice job.
FYI to anyone looking, those molding clips are P/N 191853585A and it's a good idea to replace the grommets that go with the clips, which are P/N 1H0853586. Both are available for much less money than that ebay.uk link posted earlier.
